What Is CFAEP?

The Central Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (CFAEP) is a local Chapter of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals (FAEP) that is affiliated with the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP). The Chapter’s boundaries encompass the counties of Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole. The Chapter has been formed as a focal point for objectivity, ethical standards, and technical excellence in the environmental professions with the goals of protecting, enhancing and maintaining the quality of the natural and human environment in Central Florida through cooperation with the FAEP and NAEP.


Specific Purposes of CFAEP

  • Encourage and facilitate full participation in FAEP and NAEP
  • Expand the membership to include the widest and most diverse interdisciplinary association of environmental professionals in Florida
  • Provide a forum in which the state-of-the-art in environmental planning, research and management is advanced
  • Be a focal point for objectivity, ethical standards and technical excellence within the environmental field
  • Seek professional recognition and certification
  • Be a medium of professional contact and information exchange among colleagues in business, government and academe
  • The Chapter received formal approval from the FAEP Board, adopted by-laws, elected officers, organized several committees, holds regular meetings and periodic seminars/workshops. The CFAEP has members of different professions including biologists, planners, hydrologists, air quality specialists, engineers, attorneys, lab technicians, geologists, soils scientists, hazardous material scientists, from both the public and private sectors.
