Todd hodgson, PRESIDENT

Todd Hodgson started his career in the environmental industry in 1992 and spent most of his career at Groundwater Protection, an environmental drilling contractor in the State of Florida. In his tenure at Groundwater Protection, he served as a Project Manager and advanced to become the General Manager and Vice President of Business Development. He is committed to deliver quality, integrity, creativity and responsiveness to every client on every project. It continues to be extremely important to him to form relationships with clients built on mutual trust and respect.


Amy Guilfoyle, Vice President

Amy Guilfoyle is a Project Director for SCS Engineers in Orlando, Florida.  Amy received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida.  She has 20 years experience performing and managing phase I/II environmental site assessments; contamination assessments; remedial planning and implementation; tank closures; permit applications; SPCC plans; and compliance audits.

Amy is the former President of the Florida Association of Environmental Professionals, former President of the Central Florida Chapter, and former Chair of the Metropolitan Environmental Training Alliance.  She was appointed to the Seminole County Port Authority Board of Directors and  also volunteers time to the Back to Nature Wildlife Refuge and Florida Brownfields Association.  Amy was honored with the Orlando Business Journals, Women Who Mean Business, Women to Watch Award in 2015.


Josh Hirten, Conference chair/consultant

Joshua Hirten. P.G. is an Environmental Discipline Manager with CDM Smith, Inc. with over 25 years of experience. Mr. Hirten has conducted and managed environmental projects for public, private, and federal clients. His responsibilities have included operations, financial management, client development, project management, and technical oversight. He has developed assessment and remedial documents in accordance with the state and federal requirements. Mr. Hirten has led planning and management as part of emergency response efforts for large scale environmental responses. Mr. Hirten has developed and conducted Project Management training at over 20 locations globally. He received his BA - Geology from SUNY Buffalo and his MS -Geology from the University of Florida. Josh has served the organization as a CFAEP board member and President and continues to support the group as the Conference Chair.


Nicole WRight, Secretary

“Niki” Wright joined the Dewberry Engineers, Inc. Orlando team in early 2020 with a background in both environmental contamination and natural resources work. At Dewberry, Niki focuses on natural resources services for both transportation and other land development projects. She primarily conducts environmental due diligence investigations, wetland delineations and assessments, geographic information systems (GIS) analysis and mapping, protected species surveys, gopher tortoise relocations, and completes environmental permit packages for regulatory agencies. In her free time, Niki enjoys being outside on the water, hiking, spending time with family or friends, and trying new foods. As a member of CFAEP since starting her career after UCF graduation in 2015, Niki is eager to further contribute to CFAEP as an active board member.


Riley Scherer, UCF Chapter Liaison

Riley Scherer is an Ecologist at Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. specializing in natural resources work for transportation projects. Her experience includes listed species surveys, gopher tortoise relocations, wetland delineations and assessments, tree surveys, geographic information systems (GIS) analysis, environmental permitting, and NEPA documentation. Riley is a proud alumna of the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) and has been a member of CFAEP since 2020. She is excited for the opportunity to work alongside the CFAEP board and the UCF student chapter.


Rachel Schmidt, Treasurer

Being born and raised in Florida, I have gained an immense amount of respect and appreciation of the variety of ecosystems throughout the State. Between my personal outdoor-oriented hobbies and seven years of professional experience in the environmental industry, I feel responsible to conserve and protect Central Florida, as well as, remain involved and contribute to CFAEP. As an active member of the chapter for the past 5 years, my involvement as a board member will provide encouraging initiatives for new members and gratifying community involvement opportunities that will include the whole family. As we move away from the unique challenges of 2020, I look forward to being part of such a wonderful network of environmental professionals. 


Vanessa Cruz, Board Member

Vanessa Cruz is part of the Pollution Prevention and Control (P2C) Team with the Orange County (OC) Environmental Protection Division (EPD). Mrs. Cruz has over 18 years of experience in the public sector with various environmental regulatory programs. She has managed and developed programs with primary responsibilities in hazardous and solid waste, water quantity and quality, and environmental permitting. Additional responsibilities have included training, emergency response, enforcement, aquatic plant management, noise, zoning and land use, code and policy writing, and grant management. She has also served on other nongovernmental organization (NGO) boards, has experience with planning, coordinating, hosting conferences, and all day training events. Mrs. Cruz obtained her Bachelor of Science In Food & Resource Economics from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).  


Shannon boyle, BOARD MEMBER

Shannon Boyle has an educational background in Biology with a Master’s Degree in Wildlife Forensic Science. At PSI, Shannon conducts environmental due diligences, such as Phase I ESAs, Listed Species Assessments, and Wetland Delineations. She also conducts Specific Species Assessments and works with FWC and USFWS when applicable. As a CFAEP board member, Shannon aspires to bring more awareness to this field and help create more opportunities to build a strong environmentally conscious community. Her hope is that with her combination of experience and will to learn, the board can bring more discussions for change to light.


Flormari Blackburn, Board Member

Flormari Blackburn is the Senior Engineer with RES Florida Consulting, LLC d/b/a E Sciences. At E Sciences.  Flormari’s technical strengths are in Hazardous Waste Management, Environmental Compliance, Remedial Investigations, Remedial Engineering, Environmental Assessments, Initial Remedial Action plans and activities, due diligence, construction management, health and safety, operation and maintenance activities for remediation systems, long-term groundwater monitoring and regulatory reporting.  Flormari graduated from the University of Florida with degrees in Chemical Engineering. She is currently a commissioner in the Orange County Environmental Protection Commission, has previously served as vice president of CFAEP, and is a mother of three young adults.

 

Lee Perry, Board Member

Lee Perry is a climate activist who led the United Nations Accredited NGO: IDEAS For Us, supporting Climate Action Projects around the world before starting her political career in 2020. She started by running the office of an environmental lawyer and local Rights of Nature Founder: Commissioner Nicole Wilson of Orange County District 1. In 2022, she worked as the campaign manager for a conservation champion, Carlos Guillermo Smith and then transitioned in 2023 as the Regional Director for Florida Rising. She now has her own business as a professional speaker and campaign strategist specializing in environmental issue-based initiatives.
